Ireland Music Week 2023 Applications Open in February

Conference and showcase event takes place on 3–6 October; deadline for applying is 27 March.

Ireland Music Week, the music conference and showcase run by First Music Contact, has announced that its artist applications will open on 13 February. The event, which is now in its twenty-first year, is taking place in Dublin from 3 to 6 October and will host a series of showcase events as part of its programme. Each year Ireland Music Week attracts international music industry professionals from organisations such as SXSW, ESNS, The Great Escape, Pop and more.

Artist applications will be open for six weeks from 13 February to 27 March, and artists from all genres are invited to apply. Fifty acts will be selected to showcase in October with the full line-up being announced in June.

The Ireland Music Week team will host an online meeting on Wednesday 8 February for artists and their teams to share information on the application process. Further details on this will be shared soon.

Commenting on this year’s Ireland Music Week, Angela Dorgan, CEO of First Music Contact, said:

Ireland Music Week continues to be a key strategic moment in any Irish artist’s professional career development. With a stronger IMW team in place and with artists selected earlier we can collaboratively be more intelligent with our international guest-invitations and work to grow the domestic and international teams of our export ready artists, giving them the best opportunity to grow international audiences.

First Music Contact has also recently started a new professional development project – the Seminars at Dean Arts Studio series. The next event in the series takes place on 25 January at the Dean Arts Studio on Chatham Row in Dublin and will cover the topic of ‘Getting Export Ready’. The seminar is aimed at artists who are looking to take the next step in their career including touring and releasing music internationally. Visit:
