Irish Composers Fundraising to Launch New Record Label

Planned releases by the Irish Composers' Collective to feature Kate Ellis, flute ensemble Rarescale, and Claire Edwardes and Jason Noble from Ensemble Offspring in Australia.

The Irish Composers’ Collective (ICC) is currently fundraising to launch a new record label to release music by its members.

The campaign on Indiegogo is seeking to raise €1,500 and the deadline for contributing is next Tuesday 9 February.

The ICC is planning to launch its label and release three recordings in 2021, beginning with an album of works for cello and electronics performed by Kate Ellis of Crash Ensemble. The composers featured include Mike Brookfield, Kevin Free, Martin Devek, Hugh Martin Boyle, Elaine Nolan, Lara Gallagher, Arthur Green, Rachel Nic Thomás, Richard Hughes, Maeve Kelly, Lindsey Vincent and Jamie Evans.

The following albums will feature the British chamber ensemble Rarescale, which specialises in new music for flutes, and an album of works performed by percussionist Claire Edwardes and clarinettist Jason Noble of Ensemble Offspring in Australia.

The campaign has already raised over one thousand euro. The donation range is from €5 to €100.

The ICC (formerly the Young Composers’ Collective) was founded in 2003 and is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the work of Irish composers.
