Joe Csibi Appointed General Manager of RTÉ Concert Orchestra

Double-bassist, musical director and composer to be responsible for programming and strategy.
 

RTÉ has announced the appointment of Joe Csibi as General Manager of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

A double-bassist, composer, musical director and arranger, Csibi is a former member of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. He subsequently spent eight years with Riverdance as a musician and musical director and most recently worked with Wexford Festival Opera as orchestra contractor, manager and education supervisor.

Csibi has worked in music production with artists such as Kodaline, Imelda May, Eddi Reader and Cara Dillon, and performed with artists such as The Chieftains, Sting, and Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras. As a composer, musical director and arranger he worked on RTÉ’s Centenary show in 2016 and most recently he was a composer for Dáil 100.

Commenting on his new role, Csibi said:

It is the greatest pleasure to once again be part of RTÉ and I’m honoured to be in this position. To date I’ve had a wonderful journey with what is one of the world’s greatest, most facilitating and musically friendly orchestras. I look forward to our future and all our musical adventures.
