RTÉ Concert Orchestra Seeking New General Manager

RTÉ has announced that it is recruiting a new General Manager for the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. The role involves the day-to-day management of operations for the orchestra, which has 45 full-time professional musicians.

The previous General Manager, Joe Csibi, left the broadcaster last summer to take up the role of Head of the National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus at the National Concert Hall. The current Acting General Manager of the RTÉ CO is Andrew Smith, Principal Guest Conductor is Stephen Bell, Associate Principal Conductor is Gavin Maloney, and the Leader is Mia Cooper. It also has two Associate Artists in Guy Barker and Zoë Conway. The Acting Orchestra Manager is Conor Byrne.

The job description says that RTÉ is seeking a person with ‘significant senior leadership experience working in the arts and entertainment sector with a proven track record of leading a professional orchestra/ensemble.’

The position has a salary range of €81,467 to €112,141 per annum and the closing date for applications is Monday 7 April.
