Second Edition of Love is a Stranger to Feature Susan O’Neill, Róis, God Knows and Negro Impacto
Another Love Story has announced that the second edition of its one-day partner festival Love is a Stranger will take place place on 17 May at Juniper Barn in Ballymote, Co. Sligo. The event will present a programme of live performances, DJ sets and wellness activities.
Another Love Story takes place in August in Meath, but the idea behind Love is a Stranger is ‘to bring the atmosphere and feel of Another Love Story to new and unique locations across Ireland,’ said Festival Director Emmet Condon. Speaking to the Journal of Music, he said:
In Juniper Barn we have found an incredible setting in the midst of the glorious Sligo countryside, complete with bespoke renovated barns, courtyards, and of course, the incredible Juniper Lake – all run with such care and attention to detail by Chris and Dorothy Kitchen and their team.
The festival has announced a number of acts already, including singer-songwriter Susan O’Neill, whose second solo album Now in a Minute was released in September 2024; experimental folk singer Róis, who won the awards for Best Emerging Artist and Best Original Folk Track at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards; and rapper God Knows who recently released his new single ‘The Art of Alienation’.
Also on the line up is Negro Impacto, the alternative RnB act from Dundalk, jazz ensemble Honey Trio, and singer-songwriter Dotts O’Connor.
The festival will also present a late-night programme of DJ sets, including My Name is John, Hannah Hession and Rob Rua of Galway club night Ar Ais Arís, January Winters, Noone Boy, Turn It On!, The ALS Shift Shack Soundsystem, as well as UK acts Crazy P and Dean Bryce
Throughout the day, guests will also have access to wellness activities such as a sauna on the lake, a curated dining experience in the venue’s barn, and a dedicated children’s area.
Condon added:
We look forward to creating another 24 hours of absolute magic this May with a collection of handpicked Irish and international artists providing the soundtrack, alongside a collection of local artisan food producers, the return of the Lakeside sauna, bespoke dining experiences, a programme of talks and thought-led workshops, and more to be announced as we return to the north west as summer begins to bloom.
More acts will be announced in the coming weeks for Love is a Stranger. Tickets are available with options for camping, family and campervan tickets.
The main Another Love Story festival will take place from 23 to 24 August at Killyon Manor, Co. Meath. The line-up includes Fionn Regan, John Talabot, Anna B Savage, Seamas Hyland, Trá Pháidín, Curtisy and Dug.
