The RTÉ Concert Orchestra, recently declared ‘World’s Favourite Orchestra’ on the Bachtrack website after a public vote, currently has two violin vacancies: Principal First Violin and Tutti First Violin.

Applicants are invited to submit a covering letter and CV with relevant career information by Monday 8 February. Auditions will take place on 5 and 6 March in RTÉ in Dublin.

The RTÉ CO undertakes over 90 live performances annually, regular TV and radio broadcasts, and recordings and educational work. 

Upcoming concerts include a live performance of the score to the film Mise Éire (21 Jan), performances at RTÉ’s Stravinsky in Focus weekend (6 Feb), a tribute to film composer John Barry (10 Feb), and a celebration of MGM musicals with Principal Conductor John Wilson (9 March).  

The salary range for the Principal First Violin position is €44,438–€52,562, and for the Tutti First Violin position it is €37,021–€45,596.
