‘We're very excited for another great year in Irish music’: Ten Acts Announced for 2FM Rising 2025
RTÉ 2FM has this week announced the ten acts chosen for the 2025 edition of 2FM Rising. The artist development programme, which has been running since 2018, selects a cohort of emerging artists across a range of genres each year and provides them with radio airplay and performance and promotional opportunities.
This year’s artists, selected by a music industry panel, include folk trio Amble, electronic-pop artist Annie-Dog, indie-pop band Bold Love, DJ and producer CamrinWatsin, rapper Celaviedmai, indie-rock band Cliffords, electronic-pop singer-songwriter ESSIRAY, R&B singer and producer F3miii, hip hop artist Fortúne Igiebor and pop singer Pastiche.
This week is Rising Week on 2FM, which will see the station play the ten artists’ music and broadcast interviews with them throughout the week on The Tracy Clifford Show.
‘Our ambition is to continue to build on 2FM’s rich history of supporting Irish artists and music,’ said Adam Fogarty, Director of Music at RTÉ 2FM. ‘We remain committed to bringing our audiences exciting new Irish acts that are helping shape the future of Irish music. We’re very excited for another great year in Irish music and to bring 2FM Rising to audiences in 2025.’
The previous cohort of 2FM Rising artists included Belfast rapper Jordan Adetunji, who was recently nominated for a Grammy Award and was awarded Video of the Year for his song ‘Kehlani’ at the NI Music Prize; pop artist Chubby Cat, who last month released her debut EP The Fine Art Of Disassociation and performed at the Other Voices music trail in Dingle last weekend; and indie band Big Sleep, who released their EP Stay Put Sunshine in October, and are currently performing dates across Europe and the UK, with a headline show in The Academy in Dublin booked for October 2025.
Other previous Rising artists include Dermot Kennedy, Fontaines D.C., Lyra, The Murder Capital and Wild Youth.
