The Traditional Arts Collective (TAC) will host another Ceili night in the Grand Social on 14 March after their successful first outing at the venue some weeks ago.

MC Jerry O’Reilly will be guiding people through some standard set-dances like ‘Shoe The Donkey’ and ‘The Siege of Ennis’. There will be some sean-nós dancing from Sibeal Davitt and Mary Bath Taylor. The band will include Colm Delaney on concertina, Peter Staunton on box and Phil Gaynor on drums. Singing on the night will be from Alison O’Donnell and Katerina Garcia. Most songs will be sung in Waltz time so the dancing can continue throughout.

TAC explain: ‘The ethos behind the collective is that reels and jigs are dance tunes and should therefore be danced to. The aim is to bring the ceili back to the people.’

Doors open at 8pm. Admission is €8.
