Christy Moore Concerts And More

Christy Moore is playing a series of three concerts for the Liffey Banks Sessions in Dublin, one solo and two with guests including Liam O'Flynn, Laoise Kelly and the Máirtín O'Connor band.

As well as the Luka Bloom concert on 28 June mentioned yesterday, the Liffey Banks Sessions has an impressive summer season ahead. On Monday, 2 July Christy Moore starts a series of three concerts at the Button Factory – the first time in ten years he will play a full scale solo concert. The opening night features special guests Liam O’Flynn and Laoise Kelly. Special guests on Monday, 9 July are Máirtín O’Connor, Cathal Hayden, Séamie O’Dowd and Jim Higgins. As well as performing some material from their new album Going Places, the group will be joining with Moore on a few songs. On Monday, 16 July Moore plays completely solo.

For all three, the doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets are priced at €30 (including booking fee) and are available through entertainment.ie/liffeybanks or Celtic Note (01 6704157) or Claddagh Records (01 6770262).

On Thursday, 26 July Scullion play their first Dublin date since the residency at the Grand Social last September. Supporting on the night are Iarla Ó Lionáird and Steve Cooney, who are currently recording an album together. Doors for this will open at 7.30pm, and tickets cost €20.

Jumping up to Vicar Street on Sunday, 30 September Conor Byrne and Harmonic are presenting the music and poetry of Steve Cooney, with guests Christy Moore, Dermot Byrne, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Laoise Kelly, Mary Black, Tommy Sands, Vinnie Kilduff and more.
