CMC Culture Night Call For Works

The Contemporary Music Centre's Culture Night will take place on 21 September, with the call for works closing on 2 September.

The Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) in Dublin will host a ‘Culture Night’ on 21 September, which will feature five hours of music showcasing the richness of contemporary Irish musical culture.

The event will include solo and ensemble works, live electronic sets, electroacoustic pieces and video works, and is being curated by composer Karen Power.

The CMC have issued a call for works in relation to the event, with a closing date of 2 September. The call takes in two categories; collaborative sound and visual works, and improvised, text-based or graphic-scored works for four instruments. The Quiet Music Ensemble will perform works from the latter category. There is no restriction on duration for this, whilst for the first category works should be fifteen minutes or less.

Score and/or recordings should be submitted to the CMC itself, or to eferguson [at] cmc.ie with the subject header: Happening – live at our place.
