Dublin Sound Lab at InnerSound

The electro-acoustic performance group will bring a programme of works for harpsichord and electronics to the Bucharest festival.

Members of the Dublin Sound Lab will present a programme of contemporary works based around the harpsichord at Romania’s InnerSound International Arts Festival on 28 August. Dublin Sound Lab are a contemporary music group specialising in electro-acoustic composition, especially that by Irish composers. The group was founded by Fergal Dowling and Michael Quinn, and has since worked with performers such as Deirdre Moynihan, Karlheinz Essl and Adrian Mantu among others, and has given Irish premieres of many electro-acoustic works.

The programme includes works for solo harpsichord as well as harpsichord and tape and live electronics, and one tape piece. It will be performed by Michael Quinn (harpsichord) and Fergal Dowling (computer) at the National Music University in Bucharest.

Jonathan Nangle – dying from the moment it’s struck (8-channel tape)

Jean-Claude Risset – Pentacle (harpsichord and 8-channel tape)
