Music by Schumann, Haydn, Laura Moody, David Fennessy and more features in the next Kaleidoscope Night, whilst new music::new Ireland features performances of previous Kaleidoscope commissions.

David Fennessy.

Kaleidoscope Night, a monthly music ‘salon’ curated by cellist Kate Ellis and violinist Clíodhna Ryan, returns to the Odessa Club in Dublin on 2 May at 9pm.

The programme for the event is as eclectic as past Kaleidoscope concerts, with music by Haydn and Schumann (the Sonata in E Minor, No. 34, and Adagio and Allegro, respectively), sitting alongside David Fennessy’s Rest, original material by cellist and singer Laura Moody, and a concluding group performance featuring Paul Goodman (Lyra), Nick Roth (Saxophone), Francesco Turrisi (Accordion) and Kate Ellis.

Tickets are €10 (including €2 booking fee), and are available from the Odessa Club on (01) 6703080.

Ellis and Ryan will also perform as part of the Contemporary Music Centre’s next new music::new Ireland concert, which will take place on 25 April at 6pm in the Kevin Barry Room of the National Concert Hall in Dublin. The concert features repeat performances of three works previously performed in Kaleidooscope Nights from composers David Fennessy, Enda Bates and David Stalling. Bates and Stalling will be present at the salon to discuss their work. Entry to new music::new Ireland is free.
