New Jazz Residency at the Wine Cave

The Wine Cave, at KC Peaches on Nassau Street, Dublin, is hosting a new jazz residency, starting Saturday, 3 March at 8pm. The quartet in residence is comprised of Mike Nielsen (guitar) with Sam Comerford (saxophone), Cormac O’Brien (bass) and James Mackin (drums). The music will continue until approximately 10.30pm.

Mike Nielsen, born in Sligo, attended Berklee College of Music in Boston during the 1980s. A review of his recording with guitarist Tommy Halferty featured in one of the earliest issues of The Journal of Music in Ireland. Seán MacErlaine wrote, ‘his solo [dances] over the line between dark and bright.’
