Pól Ó Ceannabháin wins Corn Uí Riada at Oireachtas na Gaeilge

Pól Ó Ceannabháin from Ard Thoir in Carna, Co. Galway, has won this year’s Corn Uí Riada at the Oireachtas in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. The premier sean-nós singing event of the year, Ó Ceannabháin was one of 17 competitors, 7 of whom had won the competition before. Ó Ceannabháin is son of the well-known singer Michael Mháire an Ghabha (1936–2005) who was a previous prizewinner at the Oireachtas.
