Public Lecture by Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh

The singer and flute player, last year's Gradam Ceoil Singer of the Year, will speak at the University of Limerick at 7pm on Monday, 13 February.

The talk, which will be delivered in Irish, is hosted by the university’s Aonad na Gaeilge. Nic Amhlaoibh is expected to cover some aspects of her musical development over the years. The lecture takes place at Seomra na Gaeilge, in Áras na Teangacha. Admission is free but interested parties should contact ciara.considine [at] ul.ie to reserve a place.

Nic Amhlaoibh grew up in Dún Chaoin, County Kerry. She has performed and toured with various musicians, and has been a member of the band Danú since 2003. She currently teaches both singing and the flute at the University of Limerick, where she received an MA in Traditional Music Performance in 2002.
