Quiet Music Ensemble Call for Scores

Quiet Music Ensemble Call for Scores

John Godfrey's Quiet Music Ensemble issue open call for scores with a deadline of 5 May.

The Quiet Music Ensemble, a group led by composer and guitarist John Godfrey that specialises in the performance of experimental, often-indeterminate music by artists such as David Toop and John Cage, have issued a call for scores for original works for the ensemble from artists ‘at an early stage in their career’.

The criteria for the call corresponds to the particular characteristics of the ensemble, such that scores should not require a conductor, and should match the instrumental line-up and the idiomatic preferences of the Quiet Music Ensemble.

Entrants do not have to pay an entrance fee, whilst submitted scores should not have been performed before. Successful works will be workshopped in May and performed in June, with a view to repeat performances in the future.

Closing date for entry is 5 May.

Full details of the call for scores are available here.
