The Irish composer Andrew Hamilton will speak at Trinity College, Dublin, on Thursday, 23 February, from 6pm to 8pm as part of the new Music Composition Centre’s series of public lectures. Hamilton will speak about his recent work right and wrong, which was premiered by EXAUDI and Endymion in London last year.

Hamilton, a former student of both Kevin Volans and Louis Andriessen, will ‘examine in detail his writing process and the various types of music that inform it’. The words for right and wrong are taken from a text by the painter Agnes Martin (1912—2004).

Admission to the talk is free, but tickets should be reserved by emailing Claire Hefferon (compcent [at] tcd.ie).
