Official Opening: Harry Hughes introduces Ben Taylor, friend, colleague and photographer to remember the late Howard Marshall, author of “Out of Darkness”, with tunes from Liam O’Brien and Sean Neylon,
followed by: The Clare launch of “What Ireland can teach the world about music and other essays” by Toner Quinn, with readings from the book and tunes from Toner, Malachy Burke (Fiddle) and Stephen McFarlane (Guitar)

Cosán Ceoil in selected pubs, with some of the leading concertina players and other musicians.

Saturday, 10 February

Grading for classes at Miltown Malbay Community Centre.

Classes at Community Centre and St. Joseph’s National School.

Master class with Noel Hill. Pre-registration required.

All classes will be overseen by Master Tutor Noel Hill and conducted by a panel of experienced musicians and tutors: Colm Browne, Sorcha Curtin, Edel Fox, Bernie Geraghty, Noel Hill, Mairead Hurley, Claire Keville, Jacqueline McCarthy, Mary MacNamara, Caoilfhionn Ní Fhrighil, Liam O’Brien, Conor O’Loughlin, Michelle O’Sullivan and Jack Talty.

Lecture: Dr. Aoife Granville “Contemporary Thoughts on Irish Traditional Music and Song”

This event will be recorded for ITMA.

Kevin Costello will be available for Concertina repairs in The Community Centre on Saturday and Sunday.

Fee: For two days’ tuition and admission to all events. (Except Saturday Night Concert)
Early Bird Registration: €70. Students must register and pay by 31st January 2024, to avail of this.
