Ahead of Crash Ensemble’s performance of his music at the Huddersfield Festival on 18 November, we’ve found in which composer Arnold Dreyblatt describes how and why he uses piano strings on his double bass. In the video, Dreyblatt also emphasises the importance of live performance. ‘My music is a live experience and the recordings can only simulate it,’ he says.
