Based at Scottish Ensemble’s busy office in Glasgow, this is a central senior role, supporting the Chief Executive to lead SE’s ambitious team. This post will involve overseeing the smooth planning and delivery of SE’s busy programme of performances, cross-artform collaborations and creative learning work – both at home and internationally – as well as overall office management.

In a small team, the General Manager must be able to turn their hand to most areas within the organisation, and stand in for the Chief Executive during their absence.

Scottish Ensemble seeks a candidate who combines creative flair with a focused, detail-orientated mindset – someone who can anticipate a problem before it arises and come up with a creative solution. You might have held project manager roles in the past, or have led marketing or development teams and now be looking to become an arts leader with a broader remit.

The successful candidate will combine exceptional administrative skills underpinned by a desire to implement good processes and a positive, flexible attitude. They will have at least 4 years’ experience of working in an arts environment, preferably the performing arts, as well as a demonstrable passion for classical music. Leadership experience would be an advantage and proven strong project management skills are essential.
