The Department of Music, University of California, Santa Barbara seeks nominations and applications for the Corwin Endowed Chair of Music Composition (tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor of Composition), with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019. The University seeks a composer of international stature who will be an effective educator and play a leadership role in our undergraduate and graduate composition programs, as well as in fostering and promoting post-graduate research. Of particular interest are candidates with interdisciplinary interests in the arts, humanities, sciences, or engineering, who will thrive in a department with strengths in traditional composition, electro-acoustic and computer music, performance, musicology, ethnomusicology, and music theory. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, professional activity, and service.
