The Arts Department of Wexford County Council invites applications from individual artists and community groups for the following opportunities.
Tyrone Guthrie Residency Award
The Arts Department will award two bursaries to artists who are domiciled in County Wexford to enable them to spend two weeks at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, the artists’ workplace in County Monaghan. Applicants should show significant achievement in their chosen field or be in a position to demonstrate a high degree of promise.
Drama League of Ireland Scholarship
The Arts Department will award two scholarships to attend the Drama League of Ireland’s 49th Residential Summer School which takes place at the University of Limerick of 26th July to 2nd August 2014.
The Drama League of Ireland (DLI) is the national representative body for amateur drama groups, societies and individuals. The Summer School facilitates participant’s artistic development by furthering their knowledge and experience with other professionals involved in the theatre-making world. There are many courses on offer at this year’s summer school designed to cater for a wide variety of interests and levels of experience.
Artist in the Community Scheme 2014
The Arts Department has composed a panel of twenty eight proficient and capable community artists who work in a variety of art-forms including film, visual arts, craft, music, dance etc.
The Arts Department may provide matched funding, up to a maximum of €3,000, to enable County Wexford based community groups to work with these artists.
