Developing a tool-kit for instrumental and vocal teachers: a 12 week course at the Royal Irish Academy of Music

This 5 ECTS credit course is accredited by Trinity College Dublin at level 7 of the NFQ.

Join expert educator Gráinne Deery on this interactive, lively and varied course between August and November which will explore the following themes:

The role of the instrumental and vocal teacher in the 21st  century
Cultivating a musical approach to teaching and learning
The reflective practitioner
Creative teaching and practice strategies
Lesson planning and assessment
Learning differences and styles
Developing musicianship and aural skills
Health and wellbeing
The business of music teaching
This course promises to broaden your knowledge of current literature and research relating to the teaching and learning environment.


12 Monday evenings from 6-8 pm

8 foundation weeks 27/8, 3/9, 10/9, 17/9, 24/9, 1/10, 8/10, 15/10

5 reflective weeks 5/11, 12/11, 19/11, 26/11
