The Dukes of Banjax

The Dukes of Banjax is a loud, immersive composed/improvised environment by David Bremner, which draws upon and extends the banjo’s brackish, downbeat, sketchy flavour. Nonchalant melodies and scrappy riffs are complemented by a ‘randomised drum-machine’ of processed banjo samples. Also in this concert is  a performance of Bremner’s solo ‘process music theatre’ work, logic ballad #2: The guarded tourist makes the guide the test. This is a piece unlike any other, definitely worth seeing if you haven’t already.

Experimental poet Maurice Scully will read some of his poetry to start the concert.

Tickets €12 / €8 available from the National Concert Hall booking office.
