Ardee Baroque was formed by Louth County Council Arts Office and the Irish Baroque Orchestra in 2004. The town of Ardee is steeped in history and was therefore a natural fit to host a festival of early music. Over the years, Ardee Baroque’s theme has reflected the town’s historical and geographical importance and has successfully merged the worlds of classical and traditional music.

At the heart of Ardee Baroque is the Irish Baroque Orchestra which has anchored the festival since the beginning and ensured that the quality of music and performance remains as high as possible. This strong association with the IBO has allowed Ardee remain on the map as one of the important early music festivals in Ireland. It has played host to some of the finest Irish and international artists of this genre and had many memorable and thrilling performances for its loyal audience.
