The Royal College of Music is one of Britain’s leading conservatoires.  It provides specialised musical education and professional training at the highest international level for performers and composers, up to doctoral level.

The Secretariat is the administrative hub of the RCM and provides essential support to the College’s Directorate.  We are now looking to recruit a full-time administrator on a permanent contract to join the team.  This post provides administrative support to the Director of Finance & Estates, Marcus McDonald, who has responsibility for the College’s finances, as well as overseeing two major capital projects which will transform the College’s estate.

The post involves daily contact with architects, consultants, project managers and suppliers, as well as students, eminent musicians, many of whom are professors, important donors and support of the College and Council members, who come from a wide variety of backgrounds: the City, media, the House of Lords and the professions.

You will need excellent inter-personal, IT, communication and organisational skills, the ability to manage a busy and varied workload, to work as a member of a team Strong administrative experience is required; some experience in a finance or estates environment would be beneficial.  An interest in classical music and Higher Education is desirable.
