Improvised Music Company (IMC) is an Arts Council funded resource for Irish-based improvising musicians and a leading promoter of jazz, world and experimental music concerts and festivals in Ireland. We currently have an opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in the world of Arts Marketing and Event Management through an internship with IMC.
Marketing & Event Assistant Internship (6 months)
4 days per week in our Dublin city-centre office + onsite at events
Improvised Music Company is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated music fan who is keen to establish a career in the area of Marketing and Management for the Arts.
Experience in Marketing, Event Managament, Publicity, Social media, Graphic Design, Website management is an advantage, but a self-starting attitude is key.
We produce on average 2-3 events per month, and also operate as a resource, supporting the Irish jazz and experimental music scene.
Your role will include the following;
Digital media and marketing support
Social Media copywriting and content creation
Website management
Artist Liaison / Production Assistant during concerts/events
On-site production/ Front of house work at events
Assistance in creation of Design materials
Publicity and promotion of events and projects
General assistance in event planning
Required Skills:
Evident interest in the Irish music, festivals and events scene
Knowledge of digital marketing and social media
Knowledge of the Irish media landscape
Excellent copywriting skills
Some Design/ editing skills
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe and other design packages
Film, Audio or media editing skills
Google Analytics, Adwords and other Digital Marketing skills

** Please note this is an unpaid internship, however a weekly allowance is allocated to help with travel/lunch expenses.
