Job Title: Fundraising Assistant (Internship position)

Reporting to: Marketing and Development Manager

Hours: 40 hours per week, 10am – 6pm, Mon – Fri, some flexibility required

Dates: Early August – September 26 2014

Salary: Please note that this position is unpaid

The Fundraising Intern is a key member of the festival team, working closely with the Marketing and Development Manager ensuring that the festival’s strategy is carried out successfully regarding sponsor relationships and donor building. Previous interns at TDF have gone on to full time positions in organisations such as: The Ark, the Abbey Theatre, RUA RED, Lighthouse Cinema, Irish Theatre Institute, The Helix.

 

Tiger Dublin Fringe

Tiger Dublin Fringe (TDF) is a multi-disciplinary festival and year-round organisation focusing on new and innovative approaches to the arts. TDF supports the development and presentation of new work by Irish and International artists of vision, nurturing artistic ambition and excellence across a range of art forms. An active curator, TDF provides an environment in which participating artists challenge, subvert and invigorate their disciplines and practice. TDF provides a context for work and demands audience engagement and dialogue. The scale and environment of the festival broadens arts participation, playing a vital role in the fabric of Dublin and Irish cultural life.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the building of contacts for sponsor and donor engagement
  • Creation and management of databases
  • Liaising with sponsors and funders and TDF box office in relation to ticket requests
  • Maintaining positive working relationships
  • Assistance at corporate events
  • Assistance at festival events with corporate partners
  • Any other duties as required

    Person Specification

  • High level of literacy, written accuracy and proofing with an acute attention to detail and the ability to handle a busy work load
  • Personable, friendly confident in engaging with people and relaying information accurately
  • Excellent organisational skills and the proven ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines
  • An ability to apply oneself to assist in the planning and executing large events
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT skills with knowledge of all Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and a working knowledge of WordPress or similar CMS
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Self motivated with a high degree of initiative
  • Fluent English
  • Flexibility regarding availability during the festival dates (Sep 5 – 20 2014)
  • An interest in or knowledge of the arts in Ireland
  • An interest in or knowledge of the business and sponsorship environment in Ireland
  • This internship is ideal for those working or training in the arts, media, communications and business fields. Interns will gain new skills related to sponsorship management, benefits delivery, communications, planning and strategy. These specific skills will be complemented by direct experience on the team of one of Dublin’s largest interdisciplinary festival and a flagship Irish Cultural organisation.

    Terms and conditions of employment

    The position will include a 3 week probationary period.

    The position holds an entitlement of 1.75 days holiday per month worked, this may not be taken until the probationary period has been completed or during the festival itself.

    All staff members are entitled to complimentary tickets to a number of shows.

     

    Closing Date for applications is 5pm Thursday July 24 with interviews taking place on Monday July 28 2014. The successful applicant must be available to begin work in the week of August 4 2014.
