Research Associate: AHRC-Project Music, Home and Heritage

To support the dissemination of research outcomes of the AHRC-funded Research Project Music, Home and Heritage: Sounding the Domestic in Georgian Britain, the Royal College of Music is seeking to engage a composer or performer with strong research interests, experience of writing and arranging for historical instrumental ensembles and the ability to assist in carrying out recordings, performances and workshops.

RCM is looking for candidates with the following attributes:

  • MMus or MA in Music or equivalent subject-specific qualification
  • Track record of producing music arrangements and orchestrations in a variety of historical styles, particularly of the period 1750 -1850
  • Experience of working with or composing for historic instruments since 1750
  • An understanding of the particular demands of bringing historical research to a wider public.
