Lecturer A in Music
The University of Surrey invitse applications for the post of Lecturer A in Music, starting October 2018.
The University seeks an applicant who specializes in popular music as both scholar and performer. This may include interests in the use and application of music technologies.
You will contribute to the evolution and development of the Music undergraduate degree course, and help the University to continue as a leading centre of excellence in Music. The successful applicant will have the potential to develop and sustain research activities, with a clear vision of how their research will progress. They will be encouraged to develop their own research profile and to produce high-quality research outputsthat may include musical compositions, installations, exhibitions, performances, journal articles and/or books.
You will contribute teaching to the Music, Creative Music Technology, and Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) undergraduate programmes, in areas of the curriculum related to popular music. There may be the potential to contribute to other scholarly fields as appropriate. You will also lead and support performance-based modules, supervise postgraduate research students, and carry out an administrative role as determined by the Head of Department.
