Friday 29th August, in the ideal and atmospheric chamber music setting of the Church of St. John the Baptist, Knightstown, Valentia, sees the inaugural events for Chamber Music on Valentia. Under the artistic directorship of pianist Mary Dullea, there will be an evening recital with violinist Darragh Morgan and Mary Dullea at the piano in a classic programme of Brahms’ Scherzo, Schumann’s passionate Sonata in A minor, the monumental Sonata in A major by Franck and Raymond Deane’s evocative Parthenia Violata. Irish musicians Mary and Darragh perform internationally as soloists and chamber musicians and seek to bring to Valentia the very special experience of sharing chamber music in a unique and intimate environment.
During the afternoon, advanced pianists from Kerry School of Music get the opportunity to work with Mary in a masterclass, which is open to observers.
Chamber Music on Valentia is grateful for the support of Kerry County Council.
