“One of my favourite albums of 2016” – John Mulvey, Uncut
“This is an extraordinary album: exceedingly hypnotic and strongly individual, while at the same time intensely moving, elemental and powerful” – folkradio.co.uk
In the intervening years since Brigid Mae Power last played a Dublin headline show she has quietly carved out a deeply impressive international career touring Europe, Japan & the US and signing to acclaimed US folk label Tompkins Square with whom she released her critically acclaimed and achingly beautiful self-titled LP. Her second album with the label The Two Worlds is due for release on February 9th and sees Brigid once again teaming up with the inimitable Peter Broderick on recording & co-production duties.

Brigid Mae Power is an Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who, like Judie Sill, Micky Newbury or Linda Perhacs before her, paints her songs in dreamily expansive strokes, transporting earthly compositions into universal and exultant realms. Her self-titled debut on Tompkins Square is a majestic suite of reverb-swathed laments for voice, guitar, piano, accordion, and harmonium, recorded at the Portland studio of key musical foil Peter Broderick. Themes include transformation, change, motherhood, acceptance, strength, courage and trust. In the words of Power, the album is about “trusting if you lose yourself or your way — you can come back”

Last seen on these shores for a spectacular night with Rue & Landless in Bello Bar in early 2017, Jim Ghedi is a supremely gifted 6 & 12 string guitarist and folk singer from the outskirts of Sheffield, England
His current solo work explores connections to the natural environments and heritage of rural communities and landscapes across the British Isles, including the village in which he grew up along the Yorkshire/Derbyshire borders. Drawing musically from some interesting genre-crossing ideas combining finger-style guitar composition, orchestral arrangments and traditional folk song..
Jim Ghedi is releasing his 2nd album 'A Hymn for Ancient Land' with Basin Rock record label on the 26th January 2018. He will be heading out on tour throughout the year with his band, good friends Neal Heppleston on Double Bass and Dbh on Violin, very much anticipating a busy year ahead
