Jennifer Walshe – Historical Documents of the Irish avant-garde vol. 1: Dada

Jennifer Walshe – All the many Peopls

An opportunity to see and hear composer and performer Jennifer Walshe.

Hear about the “Guinness Dadaists”  - active between 1920 and 1922, during the period of the Irish War of Independence they put on performances and created sculptures, wall hangings and sound poetry.

Her ALL THE MANY PEOPLS is a piece for solo voice and electronics. The texts and materials in the piece are described by the composer as being drawn from “ the paranoid schozophrenic rantings of Francis E. Dec; the delineations of logic-based language Lojban; various iterations of the Courage Wolf internet meme; re-working of shamanic songs structures using conversations found in dead internet chat rooms; collections of poorly-executed video game voice-overs.”
