The Manhattan Syndrome announce Goodbye Iowa pre-launch listening party

An event at the Odessa Club will preview the band’s debut album in an intimate audiovisual show with videos for every track by band members and top Irish video artists.

Following their debut EP in 2011, The Manhattan Syndrome have spent two years writing, recording, and producing their first full length album. Goodbye Iowa was recorded in Westland Studios by Alwyn Walker, produced by Walker and The Manhattan Syndrome, and mastered in Masterlabs by Aidan Foley. With guest appearances from notable Irish musicians like Valerie Francis (voice) and Eoin Grace (trumpet).

Goodbye Iowa was partly crowd-funded through a highly successful Fund-it campaign, the unique rewards for which played a vital role in the making of the album itself. Contributing fans not only signed up to receive advance copies of the album and single, but named songs, featured on the cover art, and even took part in the recording itself!

The pre-launch party will be the first public hearing of the full album in the beautiful and atmospheric setting of the Odessa Club. Each track will be accompanied by a unique video, created by band members as well as some of Ireland’s top video artists, including Trish MacAdam and Eoin O’Dowd.

‘Keepsake’ is the lead single from the album, and is both an evolution of and a departure from The Manhattan Syndrome’s earlier work. The single’s video was filmed by Pearse Healy and Evan Heneghan, and stars two of Ireland’s brightest young acting talents in Zena Donnelly and Alex Hrenic. The single is accompanied by stunning artwork from photographer Pearse Healy.
