The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra invites applications for the 2015/16 Mentoring Scheme

The RTÉ NSO Mentoring Scheme aims to reach out to advanced instrumental students from undergraduate and post-graduate performance courses offering them the opportunity to audition, rehearse and perform with Ireland’s only professional symphony orchestra and with conductors and soloists of international stature.

 

APPLICATIONS:
This scheme is open to all 3rd level and postgraduate performers. Applications must be approved by a tutor and returned to the designated person in your college by Friday 11th December 2015.

AUDITIONS:
Auditions will be held on Monday 1st February 2016 in Dublin (location TBC).
An accompanist can be provided or candidates may bring their own accompanist.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
To prepare:

WOODWINDS / STRINGS / HARP / TROMBONES
One movement from any classical concerto, plus a contrasting concerto movement.

TRUMPETS / TUBA
2 contrasting concerto movements

PERCUSSION
2 works of the candidate’s own choice.

At the audition each candidate will be given prepared orchestral excerpts to perform, copies of which are available electronically at the links below, and also unprepared excerpts
