Anglia Ruskin University is looking for an exceptional individual capable of providing strategic leadership for the Department of Music and Performing Arts which will build on its current strengths. Music and Performing Arts both have long traditions at the University, with a range of facilities, including concert and rehearsal rooms, recording studios, computer labs, and performance spaces. Staff and students also have access to the Mumford Theatre on the Cambridge campus.  Music and Performing Artsis one of the universities strongest research areas: the Music Therapy group has an international reputation as one of the leading units in the field; there is a strong postgraduate community, including increasing numbers of PhD students.

You’ll have experience of developing and managing partnerships, both in the UK and internationally, and the vision and passion to develop the Department’s reputation as a leading provider of music, drama and performing arts education and research. 

With a PhD or Professional Doctorate, or a research profile of Professorial standing (if you do not have a PhD or Professional Doctorate you will be required to register for one within 18 months of commencing employment), and a first degree in Music, Drama, or a related subject you’ll have a strong academic track record with a demonstrable commitment to research. You’ll also have experience of leading and managing course and curriculum design.
