Music Together Summer Performance
Performance Saturday 1st July 2-3.30pm in Greystones Theatre
This year’s project ends with a sequence of solos by some of the outstanding performers from Greystones Vocal Academy and Music Together, followed by an ensemble piece composed this year by Andy Smith and Alan Hurst.
The piece, entitled Heartbeat of the City, was first performed in April as part of Dublin’s Musictown festival. The lyrics deal with the experience of individuals with disabilities engaging with life in the city. As well as four voices, the instrumentation will include a concert model Aluphone, Saxophone, Piano, Guitar, Samba drums and Computer-based instruments. The music incorporates influences of European music including Irish music, as well as jazz and samba.
No admission fee. Donations will be invited from the audience.
This event is supported by Music Network Capital Scheme and Wicklow Arts Office
