Sonamus combines the talents of four highly-respected Irish musicians from the Traditional, Classical and Early music worlds.  The unique combination of instruments in Sonamus creates a beautiful sound that allows the group to explore a wide palette of tones and timbres in their performances of Irish Music spanning  the last seven hundred years. This series of concerts continues  Sonamus’ mission to explore this breadth  of Irish music and follows hard on their successful national tour in Autumn 2016 and  the release of their acclaimed debut album ‘Music of Ireland’. These concerts provide audiences an opportunity to hear music that was enjoyed by all strata of Irish society from the 16tth century to the present day and reflect Ireland’s extraordinarily broad musical heritage.

Working with the extraordinary talents that are Ódhrán Ó Casaide allows the group to explore an extraordinary music from lutesong to Thomas Moore, Turlough O’ Carolan to Thomas Connellan, Traditional music, Baroque music„ Irish harp tunes and Romantic arrangements of Irish traditional music. Sonamus CD ‘Music of Ireland’ available through Claddagh Records and online through CDBaby
