Music software has moved on from being primarily a recording and mixing platform to something much more versatile in terms of music creation and performance.
CreateSound.ie presents a workshop for IMRO members to explore the music-making capabilities of one of the latest and most creative pieces of music software – Ableton Live. The main demonstration will explore composition, production techniques and performance using Ableton in conjunction with external MIDI controllers. See how to make beats and jam out melody ideas whilst keeping everything in key. No previous experience necessary.
You will also be able to get your hands dirty, with equipment laid out for you to try out yourself following the presentation. Laptops will be set up with keyboards and different controllers such as the APC40, Push, Launchpad and Launchkey49.
