Cultural Protection Fund – Team Assistant

The Cultural Protection Fund is an important strand of the British Council’s Culture and Development Programme. In the Culture and Development Team we use our connections and understanding of the UK contemporary arts and culture sector to support work in the field of international development. Our aim Is to align areas of work and regional priorities and to cultivate joined up ways of working. We take evidence-based approach, and our projects are designed to strengthen cultural relations through shared activity and mutual benefit.

Main Opportunities and Challenges for this role:
- Completing financial tasks to enable grant payments to be made (e.g. creating grant vendors, raising purchase orders, etc).
- Managing the administration of grant award contracts and other documentation
- Responding to expressions of interested submitted by potential applicants during funding calls
- Maintaining databases of information relating to funded projects
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of events
- Carrying out other administrative tasks as required

What we require of the successful candidate:
- A demonstrable interested in the cultural heritage sector
- You will have experience undertaking financial tasks
- Experience of working with e-mail platforms and databases ( proficiency in Microsoft Excel)
- Experience in client-facing role, assisting with ad-hoc requests and enquiries
- Experience of office administration, e.g. organising meeting, minute taking, contract management, reporting and diary management
- Strong written and verbal communications

Please note that this is a part-time position, working 2.5 days a week between 9 to 5pm. There is flexibility around the days you can work.
