Music & Culture Partnerships Manager
Boiler Room supports & promotes underground music scenes by creating distinct event+content ‘platforms’ (aka ‘IPs’) that represent those scenes & the people at the heart of them.
From Low Heat - a DIY London youth music & fashion series, to System - a platform that celebrates the positive impact of migration on music & culture, to Appreciation of Lyricism - a platform that promotes the poets, rappers & spoken word artists whose rich, emotive storytelling is pushing the frontier of musical & cultural self-expression.
We’re looking for somebody to come on board & help secure low-to-mid level sponsorship for some of these existing platforms & a bunch of forthcoming editorial initiatives.
Somebody who has a broad & extensive list of mid-level UK contacts at brands (and their PR / creative agencies) that are known to support culture. Especially within the alcohol, fashion & lifestyle categories.
Somebody with a deep understanding of music & culture, but also versed in how brands operate, who can occupy a space in between our music team & commercial teams - unlocking brand conversations that support the very core of our business.
The role is offered initially as a 6-month position, full-time based in BR’s London HQ. If the candidate is successful, we will look to make the role a permanent position.
MAIN DUTIES
– Open up new conversations with brands that result in sponsorship for our key IPs
– Drawing up a target list of brands, relevant to each of the specific IPs, then getting out there & meeting with brand managers, sponsorship managers, PR agencies & creative agencies - representing Boiler Room & pitching the IPs
EXPECTATIONS (specific to your role)
– To have an existing broad & extensive list of mid-level UK contacts at brands (and their PR / creative agencies) that are known to support culture
– To be able to grow that contact list, and proactively seek out new relevant brand contacts
– To be able to pitch Boiler Room & it’s IPs to these contacts
– Able to relay recommendations & new opportunities to senior management in a structured and constructive manner
