Jubilate Choir: Fauré Requiem/Duruflé Requiem – Amy Ryan (conductor)
Jubilate Choir perform Duruflé Requiem and Fauré Requiem at 3pm in St Bart’s Church, Clyde Road on 10 November. Conducted by Amy Ryan, with David Grealy on organ, Judith Lyons, soprano, Aisling Lakes, mezzo-soprano and David Scott, baritone.
Jubliate choir is highly experienced, having performed major works including Bach’s St Matthew Passion and St John Passion, and most recently the Irish premiere of Graun Passion: Der Tod Jesu.
Amy Ryan, the musical director, following her undergraduate degree at the Cork School of Music, studied at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy of Music, Hungary, earning a Master’s degree and Advanced Diploma (distinction) in Music Education and Choral Conducting respectively, studying under Peter Erdei and Dr. László Nemes. Amy currently lectures in Music at Trinity College, Dublin and at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She is in demand as a choral conductor and workshop facilitator, directing the Jubilate Choir, UCD Philharmonic Choir, award-winning chamber choir, Cuore, and the Irish-language ladies choir, Cór Duibhlinne. Amy has performed throughout Europe and the United States as a cellist and flautist, and regularly teaches Musicianship and Choral Conducting on the Kodály Society of Ireland’s summer programmes.
