Early Year’s Music: Out of the Door of The Ark

Early Year’s Music: Out of the Door of The Ark

Saturday, 24 June 2017, 11.45am

Join Ark favourites Nico Brown and Martin Brunsden for an early years performance of songs, imaginative sound play, unusual instruments and a little bit of joyful chaos! Perfect for Ages 2-6.

The Ark is delighted to bring Nico and Martin back to perform a selection of their classics songs for little ears from their album Out of the Door of The Ark. Many of these songs were written during Nico’s five years as musician in residence at The Ark back when we first opened. These songs and stories come from many years of playing with children and families, who like music as an activity they can join in with, as well as a performance.

Hear the sounds of the double bass, singing saw, harp, accordion, thumb pianos, mandolin, concertina, swanee whistle, guitar and other strange instruments you might have never even seen before. Go on a Jungle Journey where you get to help make all the sounds of this trip through wild Africa, learn the very important Five Pirate Rules of the special sea shanty Aye Aye Captain, hear how loud daddy animals can be and how quiet baby animals can be and laugh about how confusing words in different languages can be in a song about a French friend.

This thoroughly enjoyable music performance with a gentle energy celebrates Nico and Martin’s many years of creative music experience.
