Applications are invited from well-renowned and accomplished traditional artists (musicians, singers, dancers) of distinction, for the above residency, which is jointly funded by the College of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Social Sciences (UCC) and the Arts Council. The role will be offered for the period October 2014 - September 2015.

The appointee will advise and mentor emerging traditional artists in the UCC community, offering six contact hours per week in the form of workshops, seminars and consultation during university terms. The appointee will give two public performances, and s/he will engage in a collaborative project with staff and students leading to the production, for public dissemination, of original artistic material. In university vacations the appointee will enjoy uninterrupted time to advance his/her own projects.

Candidates are invited to submit a letter of application and a C.V. with details of relevant performances, publications (including CDs, DVDs, etc.) and awards to Dr Mel Mercier, School of Music and Theatre, UCC mmercier [at] ucc.ie Interviews will be held in Cork in early September.

Ó Dheireadh Fómhair 2014 go dtí Meán Fómhair 2015 an tréimhse atá i gceist.

Beidh an té a cheapfar mar chomhairleoir agus mar mheantóir d’ealaíontóirí traidisiúnta nua i bpobal COC agus cuirfidh sé/sí sé huaire a’ chloig teagmhála ar fáil gach seachtain le ceardlanna, seimeanáir agus seisiúin chomhairleoireachta i rith théarmaí na hollscoile. Seinnfidh an té a cheapfar ag dhá cheolchoirm phoiblí agus beidh baint aige/aici le comhthionscadal idir an fhoireann agus na mic léinn a chuirfidh ábhar ealaíonta bunaidh os comhair an tsaoil mhóir. I rith laethanta saoire na hollscoile beidh an té a cheapfar in ann a c(h)uid tionscadal féin a chur i gcrích gan aon chur isteach.
