Firmly established as Ireland’s foremost jazz piano trio, pianist Phil Ware, bassist Dave Redmond and drummer Kevin Brady join forces with multi-award-winning Swedish trumpet player Anders Bergcrantz and Spanish Alto Saxophonist/Composer Perico Sambeat, This is assured to be a highly charged evening of music as Ireland’s leading piano trio meets two of the finest improvising musicians. This is also officially the final concert to feature International musicians’ of this calibre at JJ Smyths before the venue closes…

Multi-award-winning Swedish trumpet player Anders Bergcrantz. Takes a different path from the serene and subdued approach often found in Scandinavian jazz, Bergcrantz’s playing unashamedly bears the fiery hallmarks of Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan and Woody Shaw, making this a truly hard-swinging meeting of musical minds.

Alto saxophonist Perico Sambeat is regarded as one of the great Spanish jazz musicians. He has earned a huge reputation for his extraordinary career both inside and outside of Spain. Over twenty albums as a leader and more than a hundred as a sideman have highlighted his work with greats like Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tete Montoliu, Michael Brecker, Pat Metheny and many others.
