Organist in Residence

Organist in Residence

Friday, 23 February 2018, 12.00pm

Required for September 2018. Term time only.

The post is for one academic year.

Pangbourne College is looking to recruit an organist in residence to join its busy Music Department.

Pangbourne College is home to the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel, where it holds regular Chapel services, assemblies and the Annual Falkland Islands Memorial Service. The Organist in Residence will lead the organ playing on these occasions.

You will be responsible for providing musical accompaniment and support for individual or small group lessons, along with preparing pupils for performances and examinations. You will provide musical accompaniment to concerts, choirs and examinations. Other responsibilities will include supervision for practice sessions two evenings per week, teaching music theory and taking aural classes. The post holder may upon occasion have the opportunity to earn an additional fee through accompanying or directing rehearsals for the Pangbourne Choral Society.

You will be passionate about your instrument and be able to bring your skills and enthusiasm to inspire our pupils. There will be a requirement to work evenings and weekends and support tours and visits during College holidays.

Pangbourne College has outstanding facilities for its musicians within its awarding-winning, custom-built department. Single accommodation can be provided for this role.
