RTÉ 2FM has announced the ten acts chosen for the 2024 edition of the 2FM Rising artist development programme. Each year, 2FM Rising selects a cohort of emerging artists across varying genres and provides them with dedicated airplay as well as performance and promotional opportunities throughout the year. 

This year’s artists, selected by a music industry panel, include indie band Big Sleep, Galway-based singer-songwriter Brad Heidi, pop artist Chubby Cat, Belfast artist Jordan Adetunji whose sound blends hip hop with post-punk, neo-soul artist Qbanaa, singer-songwriter Saibh Skelly, producer David Sheerin who performs as Shee, pop-rock band Sick Love, indie duo Strabe and electronic duo The Cope.

From 27 November to 3 December is Rising Week on 2FM, which will see the station playing the artists’ music and broadcasting interviews with them throughout the week. 

‘Through core initiatives like 2FM Rising we aim to support the next generation of amazing talent creating music in Ireland across our platforms’, said 2FM Director of Music Adam Fogarty. ‘The list was carefully deliberated over and discussed with great passion over a number of weeks, and the 2FM Rising list for 2024 is a wonderful representation of some of the most exciting artists and music coming from Ireland. We’re excited for another great year for Irish music in 2024.’

Previous participants in the 2FM Rising programme include Fontaines D.C., Denise Chaila, Dermot Kennedy, Jafaris, Lyra, Pillow Queens, Wild Youth, THUMPER, The Murder Capital, For Those I Love, Negro Impacto and Gemma Dunleavy.
