The Journal of Music (originally JMI: The Journal of Music in Ireland) was founded as a bi-monthly magazine by Toner Quinn in 2000.
Over thirteen years, the magazine has broken new ground in music writing and won Irish and international awards, notably a design award from the Periodical Publishers’ Association of Ireland and the Utne Independent Press Award for Arts Coverage in Washington DC.
In March 2011, the magazine was launched as an online publication. The current editor is composer, musician and producer Benedict Schlepper-Connolly.
Published in Ireland and read worldwide, The Journal of Music is enjoyed by people who are passionate about music: regular concert- and festival-goers, musicians, composers, educators, arts and music sector personnel, media, students and those working in the music services sector.
