Lau-Land

Lau are playing concerts at the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention in McGrorys, Culdaff, Co Donegal; in the Glens Centre in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim; and in the Seamus Ennis Cultural Centre, in Naul, Co Dublin over the coming days.

To celebrate the release of their latest album, traditional music innovators, Lau are hosting their own festival in London this autumn. Lau-Land is four days of Lau-chosen events running at the multi-purpose venue on Regent’s Canal, Kings Place.

They have invited some of their favourite performers, including Brian Irvine, Geese, Adem, King Creosote and Jon Hopkins, Martin Carthy and Dave Swabrick, and Rura, to join them over the weekend 17 – 20 October 2012. The mini festival also features a newly commissioned film from Ruth Paxton, workshops, and the Race The Loser album launch.

As the put it in the publicity material: ‘Lau-Land is Lau’s opportunity to present groups and individuals that have inspired them and excite them artistically. This is a chance to delve into the mind of Lau and hear some of what makes their metronome tick so uniquely.’

In the meantime, Lau are playing a concert tomorrow night at the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention in McGrorys, Culdaff, Co Donegal; running workshops the next day; and playing in the Glens Centre in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim on Thursday, 28 June, and in the Seamus Ennis Cultural Centre, in Naul, Co Dublin on Friday.
