Last month, we followed composer Judith Ring to a rehearsal of her new work To pull an eerie twist in Dublin’s Liberties. Based on a text by the English poet Emily Crossland, the work is written for the cellist Kate Ellis, mezzo-soprano Michelle O’Rourke and playback. The playback, or tape, part is made out of hundreds of samples of O’Rourke’s voice.

For more about Judith Ring see read Garrett Sholdice’s article, ‘No Strategies’.
